Medication details

Description
Tadalafil 10 mg and 20 mg Tablets were developed for adult men seeking effective treatment for erectile dysfunction. Each tablet contains tadalafil, a potent phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor that enhances erectile function by relaxing penile blood vessels upon sexual stimulation. Conveniently formulated for easy swallowing, these tablets offer a clinically proven solution for intimate satisfaction.

For best results, take one tablet with water approximately 30 minutes before sexual activity, ensuring prior stimulation.
Directions

The direction for using Tadalafil involves several steps to ensure safe and effective administration. Here you can find a general guide, but always follow your healthcare provider's specific instructions:

1. Dosage: Start with the dose prescribed by your healthcare provider, typically beginning with a 10mg dose to minimise side effects.

2. Timing: Take one tablet by mouth with water, at least 30 minutes before sexual activity, adhering strictly to the recommended dosage.

3. Administration: Swallow the tablet whole, with or without food, avoiding more than one tablet within 24 hours.

4. Storage: Keep Tadalafil in its original packaging and store it at room temperature, away from moisture and heat.

5. Missed Dose: Since Tadalafil is taken as needed, there is no concern about missing a dose. Do not take more than one tablet per day.

6. Monitoring: Regularly follow up with your healthcare provider to monitor your response to Tadalafil and make any necessary adjustments to your treatment plan.

7. Side Effects and Precautions: Be mindful of potential side effects (full list of side effects found in the patient information leaflet), and contact your healthcare provider if you experience any severe or persistent symptoms.

Ingredients

Tadalafil 10 mg and 20 mg film-coated tablets contain the active ingredient tadalafil. Tadalafil works by helping the blood vessels in the penis to relax, allowing the flow of blood into the penis upon sexual stimulation, therefore improving erectile function.

Other ingredients include lactose monohydrate, croscarmellose sodium, hydroxypropyl cellulose, povidone K-25, magnesium stearate, colloidal silicon dioxide, sodium laurilsulfate, hypromellose, macrogol, titanium dioxide (E171), talc, and yellow iron oxide (E172).

Side Effects

Common side effects of Tadalafil tablets may include headache, back pain, muscle aches, facial flushing, nasal congestion, and indigestion.

Less common side effects can include dizziness, stomach ache, nausea, vomiting, blurred vision, and eye pain.

In rare cases, serious side effects such as fainting, seizures, memory loss, swelling of the eyelids, sudden decrease or loss of hearing, and hives may occur.

A comprehensive list of side effects is available in the patient information leaflet. If you experience any severe or persistent side effects, seek medical attention promptly.

Warnings

When using Tadalafil, it is important to be aware of the following warnings:

Allergic Reactions: Do not take Tadalafil if you are allergic to tadalafil or any of the other ingredients in the medication.

Nitrate Use: Avoid Tadalafil if you are taking any form of organic nitrate or nitric oxide donors, as this can lead to potentially dangerous interactions.

Heart Conditions: Individuals with serious heart disease or recent heart attacks should refrain from using Tadalafil, as sexual activity may strain the heart further.

Stroke History: If you have experienced a stroke within the last six months, Tadalafil may not be suitable for you.

Blood Pressure: Tadalafil is not recommended for individuals with low blood pressure or uncontrolled high blood pressure.

Vision Loss: Those who have experienced vision loss due to non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION) should avoid Tadalafil.

Riociguat Use: Avoid Tadalafil if you are taking riociguat, a medication for pulmonary arterial hypertension, as it can increase the hypotensive effects of Tadalafil.

Alcohol Consumption: Drinking alcohol may affect your ability to get an erection and may temporarily lower your blood pressure. If you have taken or are planning to take Tadalafil, avoid excessive drinking (blood alcohol level of 0.08 % or greater), since this may increase the risk of dizziness when standing up.

It is essential to discuss these warnings and precautions with your doctor or pharmacist before starting Tadalafil therapy, particularly if you have specific medical conditions such as sickle cell anaemia, multiple myeloma, leukaemia, liver problems, or kidney problems.
